Indian Army Hosts Grand Yoga Celebration at Poonch Border Villages

The Indian Army's Krishna Ghati Brigade's Balnoi Battalion marked the 11th International Yoga Day with an enthusiastic yoga session in Poonch, drawing locals from nearby border villages. The event aimed to foster health and unity through yoga, with participation from residents of Balnoi, Dad Sagra, Mankot, and surrounding areas.
Mohamed Ashraf Chaudhary, a local resident, expressed gratitude to the Army for organizing the event. He noted, "People from Banloi, Dad Sagra, Mankot came with great enthusiasm. This was the biggest event after Operation Sindoor." He commended the Army's role in securing borders and partnering with locals to strengthen community ties.
Social activist Moin Aftab Khan highlighted the pride felt by villagers witnessing and participating in the yoga session at the Army base. He called on elders to propagate the message of yoga and thanked Army officers for maintaining community connections.
Simultaneously, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spearheaded Yoga Day celebrations in Udhampur, lauding the Army's efforts in Operation Sindoor. Singh praised the army's courage and valor, stating, "Your bravery is widely admired across the nation." He emphasized yoga's role in addressing global stress and anxiety.
Singh highlighted this year's theme, "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," as a reflection of India's worldview that the entire globe is one family. His visit included cultural exchanges and a meal with army personnel, cementing the bond between the army and the local community.
