Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, 517 Indian nationals have been safely evacuated from Iran, expressing their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Government. The evacuees arrived in New Delhi on a special flight from Turkmenistan's Ashgabat early Saturday, and voiced their relief and happiness through slogans like 'Bharat Mata ki Jai.'

Evacuees such as Fatima Begum shared their appreciation for the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, affirming that all essential facilities including accommodation and food were adequately provided. Another evacuee, Fazil Naqvi, acknowledged the invaluable support from the Indian Embassy staff in Iran and expressed hopes for continued effective governance.

According to Randhir Jaiswal, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Operation Sindhu facilitated the safe return amid the conflict-driven challenges. Coordinated by the Indian Embassy in Tehran, the evacuation was executed with precision, ensuring the secure passage of Indians trapped in a deteriorating situation. Zaffar Abbas Naqvi, one of the evacuees, recounted their ordeal and emphasized the pivotal role of the Indian government in their safe return.
