Marking the 11th International Day of Yoga, visitors can experience the majestic beauty of Agra's Taj Mahal without an entry fee on Saturday. The Archaeological Survey of India, caretaker of numerous ancient monuments, has waived charges for this occasion, blending cultural heritage with wellness advocacy.
Normally, the ASI grants free entry to special events like World Heritage Day on April 18th and Shah Jahan's death anniversary. This year, in recognition of International Day of Yoga, free admission also extends to other historic sites including Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Sikandra, and Etmad-ud-Daula, promoting a sense of unity through heritage and wellness.
Across India, yoga enthusiasts are uniting in celebrations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a yoga session in Visakhapatnam, calling for global peace and advocating for yoga's adoption as a shared worldwide responsibility. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led a celebration in Gorakhpur, underscoring yoga as India's vital gift to the world and lauding the Prime Minister for elevating its international recognition.
