RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha on Saturday advocated for a unified stance from the Indian Parliament concerning the Pakistani government's nomination of US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. Jha emphasized the importance of veteran leader Rajnath Singh's role in fostering a collective message, given Singh's diplomatic leadership and approach towards the Opposition.

The endorsement by Pakistan, citing Trump's significant role in diffusing tensions between India and Pakistan, calls for a session in Parliament, Jha told ANI. He stressed the need for collective national sentiment to address related questions, noting the repetitive nature of Trump's claims and the challenges faced by India's Ministry of External Affairs in responding.

On June 21, as confirmed by The Dawn, Pakistan praised Trump's diplomatic endeavors with a formal nomination citing his actions during recent regional conflicts as markers of his peacemaking capabilities. However, Trump himself disclaimed any expectations of receiving the Nobel, citing his numerous prior efforts in conflict resolution globally through Truth Social communications.
