Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Saturday demanded an explanation from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) regarding the initial denial and subsequent approval of his delegation's US visit. Kharge accused the central government of obstructing Karnataka's bid to secure foreign investments, raising suspicions of political bias.

'This is a question directed at the MEA. Initially, they refused my delegation to travel to the US, only to approve it later. What changed?' Kharge questioned, during an interview with ANI. He emphasized the urgency of the visit, lamenting that crucial global trade events cannot be postponed to accommodate administrative mishaps.

Highlighting the economic prowess of Karnataka, along with Telangana and Tamil Nadu, Kharge underscored the trio's contribution to half of India's GDP. 'It's imperative for us to seek investments abroad,' he stated, pointing out the inequity in treatment compared to other states and reiterating the job creation role Karnataka plays for the nation.
