A heated monetary dispute escalated into violence on Saturday evening, as a young man found himself at the receiving end of gunfire in Delhi's Kalkaji region. Police report that the altercation occurred around 6 pm near the Mini Market, DDA Flats.
The victim, identified as 20-year-old Manav Singh, was shot three times following an argument concerning money borrowed by a friend from the accused. According to police, the incident unfolded when a friend of Singh's borrowed money from the accused but failed to reimburse it, leading to the conflict.
Law enforcement officials promptly responded to the scene, with DCP South East Hemant Tiwari confirming a case has been registered. Efforts to apprehend the shooter are underway, while local politician Saurabh Bharadwaj criticized the response to rising crime rates in the region, noting resident alarm after similar incidents in the past.
