In a bid to tackle the escalating gun violence in the nation's capital, Delhi Police is deploying advanced technology-driven measures. The initiative features cutting-edge sensors and high-resolution cameras designed to provide prompt alerts, assist in identifying offenders, and trace getaway vehicles.

The project is currently being rolled out across the city, focusing on improved surveillance and swift response times. Strategically positioned sensors can detect gunfire across a radius of 500 meters to one kilometer, automatically activating nearby PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras to zero in on the source of the gunshots.

The system integrates Facial Recognition System (FRS) and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to facilitate real-time suspect identification and vehicle tracking. The comprehensive network is connected to the Integrated Command, Control, Communication, and Computer Centre (C4I) at Delhi Police Headquarters, promising faster response and a deterrent effect on potential criminals.
