A moving Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) road dust cleaning vehicle caught fire near the Telangana State Assembly in Hyderabad early Sunday morning, according to local officials. The driver managed to escape without injury, and firefighters swiftly arrived on the scene, extinguishing the flames that left the vehicle completely destroyed.
The fire occurred around 1 a.m. as the vehicle was performing routine cleaning. Upon spotting the fire, the driver vacated the vehicle, ensuring his safety. Despite the quick response of two fire engines, the vehicle succumbed to the flames. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
In a separate incident, swift action by Telangana's Dial-112 emergency system averted a potential catastrophe at the Garden Tower apartment complex. An electrical short circuit in an AC unit sparked a fire, prompting an immediate emergency response that prevented a larger disaster near the school and petrol pump area. All residents were evacuated safely, with no injuries reported according to the Telangana State Integrated Command and Control Centre.
