The Sambhal Municipal Council is actively executing a comprehensive project aimed at rejuvenating the city's pilgrimage sites and ancient wells, alongside significant road widening initiatives. This ambitious endeavor is poised to elevate Sambhal's status as a burgeoning pilgrimage destination, breathing new life into its historical assets.
Municipality Executive Officer Mani Bhushan Tiwari shared details of the development plan focused on key religious sites featured in the Sambhal Mahatma. Sites like the Chaturmukh Well and Ghanta Teerth are witnessing significant progress, with 90% and 45% restoration work completed, respectively. "Our efforts to support Sambhal's growth as a pilgrimage hub have translated into detailed plans for major shrines such as Shankh Madhav and Mahamrityunjaya," Tiwari expressed, highlighting proposals sent under government schemes to transform ponds into Amrit Sarovars and elevate infrastructure.
Furthermore, the integration of modern technology will enhance the visitor experience. The ancient wells are being outfitted with uniform gates, and virtual reality, along with Google Maps, will showcase their religious and historical import, especially their ties to Prithviraj Chauhan. Restored landmarks like the historical chakki are being presented with informative signage, further connecting locals and tourists to Sambhal's rich heritage. Confirming financial and design assistance from the government, Tiwari acknowledged the pivotal role of the Sambhal Kalki Vikas Samiti in this transformative project.
