The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced the successful completion of a trial run for the Namo Bharat trains along the 82 km stretch from Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram in Meerut. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the Namo Bharat corridor, the first of its kind in India.

Throughout the trial, Namo Bharat trains operated seamlessly at maximum speeds of 160 km per hour, pausing at each station as scheduled. This progress underscores NCRTC's objective of creating an efficient transit system that dramatically reduces travel time across the corridor.

The corridor is equipped with the advanced ETCS Level 3 hybrid signalling system over an LTE backbone, which has been successfully integrated with platform screen doors at every station. This technology facilitates smooth operations and enhances safety protocols. At present, 55 km of the route with 11 stations is already open to passengers, while final touches are being applied to the remaining sections to prepare them for full operational capacity.
