Kerala Legislative Assembly's Opposition Leader, V D Satheesan, has expressed serious concern over the escalating tensions in the Gulf region, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prioritize the safety of Indian expatriates residing in Qatar and other Gulf countries.

In a letter, Satheesan highlighted the recent developments, noting that Iran's retaliatory attack on the United States forces at Qatar's Al Udeid Air Base has raised concerns over a broader conflict. He also pointed out the significant presence of Indian nationals, particularly from Kerala, in the Gulf.

Satheesan stressed the vital emotional and social importance of protecting these expatriates, urging the Indian government to promptly take proactive measures. The call for action follows the recent escalation, where Iran launched multiple missiles at US installations in the region, after US strikes on Iranian facilities, as reported by CNN.
