The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that light rainfall is expected in several regions of the national capital and adjoining NCR areas on Tuesday. This forecast offers much-needed relief from the intense summer heat gripping the city and its surroundings, such as Narela, Bawana, and Dwarka.
Rain showers are also predicted in nearby areas including Bahadurgarh and Gurugram within the National Capital Region, as well as further sectors in Haryana like Safidon and Panipat. The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced, affecting regions in Bihar and parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh as of June 19, according to IMD's updates.
Furthermore, the IMD reports that very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely in isolated areas across Gujarat, north Konkan, and portions of Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand in the coming days. Northeast India may experience thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain, while light to moderate rain is anticipated in most areas.
