The Assam government is rolling out a strategic health initiative starting October, with plans to establish five health camps per legislative constituency. During a recent meeting with the State Health Department, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized making these camps exemplary 'Model Camps,' equipped with comprehensive facilities.
On social media platform X, CM Sarma announced that the camps aim to screen residents, providing crucial medical aid facilitated by specialized doctors from both public and private sectors. The program will ensure continuous treatment support, linking patients to health welfare schemes, thus preventing treatment discontinuation.
CM Sarma highlighted that the camps would offer free counseling and medication, alongside promoting awareness of healthy practices and lifestyles. Additionally, progress was noted in the 23rd Assam Cancer Care Foundation meeting, where new cancer care infrastructure and the launch of a nursing college were advanced.
