The Punjab government is gearing up for the 2025 Paddy Procurement Season by establishing a subcommittee, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Man, to ensure a seamless process.
During today's initial meeting in Chandigarh, the Group of Ministers, headed by Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, explored strategies to avert potential hurdles in paddy procurement.
Praising the initiative, Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal emphasized Punjab's pivotal role in India's agriculture, particularly through its substantial rice contribution.
In a related development, the foundation for a new grain market was laid in Mohali's Saneta region, showcasing continued efforts to support the agricultural infrastructure in Punjab.
