Chennai Police have arrested former AIADMK functionary Prasad on charges of engaging in multiple criminal activities, including attempts to murder, a fraudulent job scam, and drug peddling. This information was disclosed by Chennai Police following the registration of two cases in the Nungambakkam area, where a brawl between two groups in a bar led to one arrest initially, with seven more in a subsequent case.

Upon probing Prasad's involvement, authorities uncovered through extensive technical analysis and scrutiny of financial records that he was implicated in an attempted murder. Furthermore, Prasad orchestrated a job scam, defrauding approximately Rs 2 crores by falsely promising employment in various governmental departments such as Chennai Corporation and TNPSC, affecting 200 individuals who paid Rs 2 lakhs each. Senthil, a police official connected to Prasad, was also apprehended as three cases have now been lodged against Prasad and three associates.

The investigation also revealed Prasad's role in blackmail, exploiting his partner Santosh for personal data for financial gain. This led to another case, with two sub-inspectors under investigation and one arrested. Over the past three years, Prasad reportedly dealt in cocaine sourced from Karnataka and Ghana, hosting drug-laden parties. A search led to the seizure of 11 grams of cocaine, critical banking information, and digital data. Actor Srikanth was questioned and subjected to medical tests, leading to his arrest. Prasad's associate, Ajay Vandaiyar, is implicated in land fraud and is apprehended alongside accomplices Nagendra Sethupathi and others. Authorities continue to pursue other suspects and caution the public against drug use and failing to report drug-related crimes.
