CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP Sandosh Kumar has penned a letter to RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, urging him to acknowledge the essential role of secularism and socialism as core values of the Indian Constitution. This comes after RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale suggested reconsidering the inclusion of these terms in the Preamble.

In his letter, Kumar criticized recent remarks by senior RSS members, arguing that these principles are vital to maintaining a pluralistic and just society in India. He emphasized that secularism and socialism stem from the nation's struggles and visionary leaders, ensuring unity and justice for all citizens.

Kumar called on the RSS to cease actions undermining the Constitution and urged Bhagwat to guide RSS members towards upholding it. Highlighting historical contrasts between CPI(M) and RSS, Kumar questioned RSS's commitment to democratic values and the Constitution's spirit.
