In a heated press conference on Monday, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi launched a stern critique against the INDIA bloc, suggesting their preference for religious influences over socialist principles. Trivedi accused the opposition, led by RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, of attempting to transform 'Samajwad' into 'Namazwad', highlighting a contentious debate over the Waqf Amendment Act.
Trivedi posed a provocative question to the INDIA alliance, regarding their intentions to implement 'Sharia Law' in Bihar, framing it as an issue that would overshadow the constitution crafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He drew parallels with the controversial Shah Bano case, where Congress allegedly elevated religious laws over constitutional judgments.
Emphasizing his concerns, Trivedi questioned the mention of 'Waqf' in religious texts, describing it as a creation of religious figures. He warned that a potential opposition-led government would prioritize 'Namazwad' and 'Sharia Law', threatening to disregard the foundational legal frameworks of India.
