In the midst of swirling speculations concerning potential reshuffles within Karnataka's Congress unit, senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala's visit to the state has sparked significant political intrigue. Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized on Monday that any decision regarding a change in the Chief Minister rests solely with the party's high command, suggesting that internal matters are managed at the top echelons of the Congress hierarchy.

The visit by Surjewala, explained Congress President Kharge, is meant to assess the ground reality and gather pertinent information. "He will ascertain the ongoing situation and based on his findings, we will decide the next course of action," he remarked. Adding to this, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured that Surjewala's presence is intended to bolster the party's organizational framework, iterating the government's stability and long-term plans.

Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara, however, clarified his unawareness about the specific agenda behind Surjewala's visit. He hinted that the upcoming Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat elections might be a focal point of discussion. He highlighted that the Congress high command often intervenes when internal discrepancies arise, underlining such actions as routine within party operations.
