In a decisive move against narcotics, the East Agartala Police conducted a raid at Lalmatia, resulting in the arrest of four alleged drug smugglers. The operation, executed with the Maharaj Ganj Bazar Outpost team's assistance, led to capturing the suspects: Rahul Roy, Rajib Roy, Mithun Das, and Bimal Sutradhar.

The raid yielded a significant haul of illegal substances, including 1,200 vials of brown sugar, along with Rs 7,000 in cash, mobile phones, a motorcycle, and a scooty. Police estimate the seized contraband's market value at Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 lakh. An NDPS case has been filed, and authorities seek the accused's remand for further investigation.

Concurrent with these enforcement actions, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced ongoing efforts to elevate the state's education, health, and communication sectors. He inaugurated 28 projects and initiated 5 more with a total value of Rs 42.46 crore. This forms part of the broader Rs 674 crore worth of projects launched this year to enhance state infrastructure, underscoring the commitment to sustained development under BJP leadership.
