A significant case of reported financial misconduct has emerged in Bathinda, prompting immediate action from government authorities. A complaint indicated the theft of funds specifically allocated for ambulance fuel, confirmed Deputy Commissioner Showkat Ahmad Parray on Tuesday.

Upon detecting irregularities in fund usage, a comprehensive inquiry was launched. Following this, the Senior Medical Officer along with an assistant and a data entry operator faced suspension due to their alleged involvement. The Health Secretary has established a committee to thoroughly investigate the claims.

Initially, the Senior Medical Officer was transferred to prevent any influence over the inquiry. Deputy Commissioner Parray emphasized the government's firm stance against any disruption of its systems, underscoring a zero-tolerance policy toward such misconduct. As investigations continue, legal actions will be pursued based on the findings.
