In a dramatic turn of events, a press conference led by Kerala's newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP) descended into chaos when a man, claiming to be a media reporter, disrupted the proceedings. The man was identified as Basheer, a former sub-inspector at Kannavam Police Station in Kannur, who voiced grievances over alleged harassment during his police tenure.

Basheer interrupted the DGP's briefing, insisting he had suffered injustices throughout his 30-year career. Ejected from the venue by police, he later informed reporters of his denied quest for justice. He referenced a complaint made by his wife, Sajitha, to the Kerala Chief Minister, detailing the alleged challenges he faced.

According to Sajitha's submission, an incident on October 1, 2021, saw Basheer attacked by a parolee, Uthaman, and his cohorts. This led to a filed police report, yet Basheer's transfer followed as purported retribution. Basheer, who claims media credentials from a Gulf-based outlet, remains embroiled in the controversy, while the DGP's office stays silent.
