The social media blockade involving Pakistani celebrities continues to stir controversy in India. On Wednesday, Instagram briefly allowed Indian users access to accounts of Pakistani actors such as Mawra Hocane and Saba Qamar, sparking debate before reinstating the restrictions.
This development has led to a public outcry across social media platforms. As of Thursday, accounts remain inaccessible in India, with the message stating compliance with a legal request for content restriction displayed to users.
Meanwhile, notable Pakistani icons such as Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan are still blocked from Instagram in India. The Indian government has enforced these restrictions following allegations of anti-India content after the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor, intensifying the Indo-Pak conflict.
