Vertis Infrastructure Trust announced Wednesday that it has secured ₹900 crore through a Sustainability-Linked Bond (SLB).
Previously known as Highways Infrastructure Trust, this SEBI-registered Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) attracted the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as its anchor investor, underscoring global faith in India's burgeoning ESG-financing sector.
The SLB, designed with specific sustainability performance targets, aligns interest rates with the accomplishment of environmental, social, and governance outcomes, echoing international standards. This move underscores Vertis' enduring commitment to sustainability, as emphasized by Executive Director and Joint CEO Gaurav Chandna, who stated that the SLB issuance highlights the advancing maturity of Indian InvITs in accessing innovative financing aligned with global benchmarks.
