Court Denies Diddy Pre-Sentencing Release Amid Concerns Over Community Safety
Hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs remains in custody after a federal judge denied his request for release ahead of sentencing. While acquitted of the most serious charges, evidence of physical violence led to the decision. Combs' legal team had argued for release citing poor jail conditions.

NEW YORK, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Sean "Diddy" Combs will remain in custody after a federal judge rejected his request for release before his October 3 sentencing. The hip-hop star was found not guilty on the most serious counts in his recent sex crimes trial.
Combs' legal team pleaded for his release on a $50 million bond, citing dangerous conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. They pointed to instances where others convicted on similar charges were granted pre-sentencing freedom.
Prosecutors argued that Combs remains a threat, highlighting evidence of physical violence. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian agreed that the presence of violence in the case justified denying Combs' release.
