Jammu and Kashmir Bank Fends Off Cyberattacks Post Pahalgam Attack
Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Jammu and Kashmir Bank faced cyberattacks from Pakistan. However, its robust cybersecurity system prevented any breaches. The bank's initiatives are recognized by both state and national bodies. Following a series of cyberattacks emanating from Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror incident, Jammu and Kashmir Bank has successfully thwarted any breaches due to its robust cybersecurity infrastructure, according to CEO Amitava Chatterjee.
In an exclusive interview with PTI, Chatterjee revealed that the attacks began within a day of the Pahalgam attack, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists. The bank, anticipated such attempts and strengthened its defenses from April 23rd onwards, ensuring uninterrupted service across its applications.
Chatterjee also noted the bank's cybersecurity prowess, highlighting that it has been recognized by both the Jammu and Kashmir government and the Reserve Bank of India for its excellence. Despite the adverse effects on tourism and banking due to the Pahalgam attack, the region is showing signs of economic recovery, aided by initiatives like the Vande Bharat Express and the Amarnath yatra.
