Tel Aviv, Israel - On July 28, Elbit Systems, a leading Israeli defense technology company, announced a significant contract win valued at $260 million. Awarded by Airbus Defence and Space, the contract involves supplying Elbit's state-of-the-art J-MUSI Directed Infrared Counter Measures (DIRCM) systems for Germany's A400M military transport aircraft.

The DIRCM system is designed to safeguard aircraft from the looming threat of infrared-guided missiles. By employing advanced lasers and imaging technology, the system can autonomously detect and neutralize incoming missile threats, providing unparalleled protection for the aircraft and its occupants.

The six-year contract was given the green light by Germany's Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology, and Operations, underscoring the strategic importance of the DIRCM systems in enhancing the defensive capabilities of the German fleet.
