In a tragic road accident in Jharkhand's Deoghar district, six people lost their lives when a bus collided with a truck carrying gas cylinders. The District Commissioner, Naman Priyesh Lakra, reported that three people remain in critical condition following the early morning incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the bus, carrying devotees from Bihar and other states, lost control after its driver, reportedly a local, fell asleep. After the initial collision, the driver fell out, and the bus traveled driverless for 200 feet before crashing again.
The incident, which claimed the lives of the bus driver and five others, occurred amid the Kanwar Yatra pilgrimage, a sacred time for devotees of Lord Shiva. The Prime Minister's Office extended condolences to the bereaved families and the speedy recovery of the injured, while authorities continue to investigate the incident.
