A tragic accident in Jharkhand's Deoghar district has resulted in the deaths of at least six Kanwariyas and injuries to 24 others. The collision involved a bus carrying the devotees and a truck loaded with cooking gas cylinders, according to official reports.
The incident occurred near the Jamuniya forest, under the Mohanpur Police Station limits, at approximately 5:30 am. The district administration has launched a rescue operation, and the injured are receiving medical assistance at local hospitals.
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other officials extended their condolences, conflicting reports about the death toll have emerged. MP Nishikant Dubey claimed 18 deaths, though police confirmed six fatalities. The condition of several injured remains serious, with ongoing relief efforts.
