The YSR Congress Party has voiced stern objections to restrictions placed in Nellore coinciding with former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's visit. The party alleges notices were issued to disrupt Reddy's visit to Nellore jail to see YSR Congress member Kakani Govardhan Reddy, whom they claim is being detained unlawfully.
Former TTD Chairman and party leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy criticized the measures, emphasizing YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's wide support base that negates the need for deliberate mobilization. He also challenged the governance philosophy of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of prioritizing philanthropy over effective governance.
Bhumana alleged that Naidu has amassed sufficient wealth to fund the controversial P4 initiative independently, revealing the administration's failure to genuinely sponsor families. Meanwhile, Chelluboina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna, a former minister, censured the poor conditions in state welfare hostels and blamed Education Minister Nara Lokesh for the substandard amenities.
