In a significant move to popularize traditional Indian medicine, the central government has initiated the Central Sector Scheme focusing on Information Education and Communication (IEC) in Ayush. This initiative aims to spread awareness about Ayush Systems of Medicine through events like National Arogya Fairs and Yoga Fests, alongside multimedia campaigns.

Union Minister of State for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, informed Rajya Sabha on Tuesday about the steps taken for enhancing Ayush medicine production and distribution. Quality certifications by the Quality Council of India (QCI) now require Ayush products to undergo third-party quality evaluations to meet local and international standards. Stricter regulatory provisions are also in place under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, demanding adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and drug quality standards.

The government has further advanced Ayush's research and development through initiatives like the AYURGYAN Scheme. This scheme supports extensive research including clinical and medicinal plant studies. The Ministry of Ayush has signed country-specific and institutional MoUs to promote Ayush medicine globally, while also running awareness campaigns to emphasize the efficacy of these traditional practices.
