The Rajya Sabha was a scene of vibrant debate as CPI(M) MP John Brittas strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not addressing US President Donald Trump's controversial remarks regarding the Pahalgam terror attack. Brittas condemned the silence, highlighting the Pulwama incident as a monumental security lapse in independent India's history.
Speaking during a special discussion on Operation Sindoor, Brittas labeled the concept of 'New Bharat' as a celebration of bygone failures, citing major attacks on Indian soil. He challenged the Prime Minister to publicly denounce Trump's claims, urging a firm government stance.
Meanwhile, Union Minister JP Nadda defended the current administration, redirecting the blame towards the previous Congress-led UPA government for its lackluster response to multiple terror strikes. Nadda accused the former government of complacency, continuing diplomatic engagements despite ongoing terrorist threats.
