The Rajya Sabha experienced significant disruptions on Monday as Opposition MPs vehemently protested against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar. Persistent demands for a debate on the issue led to repeated adjournments throughout the session.
The Upper House first stalled its meeting minutes after it convened at 11 am, resuming at noon only to face further protests from the Opposition. Despite pleas to discuss the SIR exercise, the agenda was overlooked, resulting in yet another adjournment till 2 pm.
Escalating tensions saw Opposition members entering the Well of the House, vociferously demanding that the controversial exercise be halted. With no resolution in sight, the Chair decided to adjourn the Rajya Sabha for the entire day.
