A wave of pride pulsed through Churachandpur as CRPF Inspector Jeffrey Hmingchullo returned to an exuberant homecoming celebration. Honored with the prestigious Shaurya Chakra, Inspector Hmingchullo received the award from President Droupadi Murmu on May 22 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, recognizing his exceptional bravery during a critical anti-Maoist operation in Chatra district, Jharkhand.

The village, predominantly inhabited by the Kuki tribe in Manipur's Churachandpur district, turned out in large numbers to welcome their local hero. Festivities included cheering crowds, floral garlands, and an admiration-filled atmosphere. The Hmar Youth Association organized a felicitation ceremony, celebrating his gallantry with exuberant pride. Inspector Hmingchullo expressed that receiving the award was a 'dream come true' and hoped to inspire others from the Mizo community to serve with courage and integrity.

Behind the triumph stood the unwavering support of his mother, F Muani, who expressed her pride. She praised her son's commitment to national service, expressing gratitude for the accolades bestowed upon him. This milestone not only celebrated personal achievement but also highlighted the tradition of military service among Manipur's tribal communities, renowned for their contributions to the nation.

Inspector Hmingchullo's valor symbolizes hope and serves as an inspiration for Manipur's youth, echoing the message that national heroes can emerge from the most remote areas.
