Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu attended a special screening of 'The Last Drop,' a short film spotlighting climate change, at his official residence in Shimla. Starring Kaun Banega Crorepati fame Arunoday Sharma, the film addresses the critical issue of melting glaciers and is set to debut at The Great Himalayan Water Festival.
The Chief Minister applauded the film's creative approach to raising climate awareness, particularly among youth. He stressed the growing threat of global warming and the importance of collective action. Highlighting the state's proactive measures, he announced the implementation of an Early Warning System for real-time disaster monitoring and alerts to minimize damage.
Also present were Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania and the film's production team. Separately, the Himachal Pradesh cabinet, led by CM Sukhu, approved OBC reservation in local elections and proposed a Backwards Classes Commission for population data collection ahead of future polls.
