In a decisive move against illegal liquor production, the Excise Department, spearheaded by Circle Inspector Acharya, initiated surprise raids across multiple zones in Hukumpeta Mandal, Alluri district. These operations come as part of a broader crackdown on clandestine liquor brewing units, known locally as 'sara' (toddy).

Carried out with precision, the joint task force comprising Excise and Enforcement teams, alongside Hukumpeta police, descended upon Raatuluputtu village in the Thigalavalasa Panchayat. Officials reported seizing and subsequently destroying around 5,000 litres of jaggery wash, intended for illicit liquor production, as well as some brewed 'sara'.

Individuals engaged in these illegal activities fled upon the police's arrival, leaving authorities to intensify efforts to capture the absconding suspects. Circle Inspector Acharya noted that these operations were executed under directives from senior excise officials and District SP Amit Bardar, backed by DSP Ahmed's oversight.
