These operations come as part of a broader crackdown on clandestine liquor brewing units, known locally as 'sara' (toddy).
Carried out with precision, the joint task force comprising Excise and Enforcement teams, alongside Hukumpeta police, descended upon Raatuluputtu village in the Thigalavalasa Panchayat. Officials reported seizing and subsequently destroying around 5,000 litres of jaggery wash, intended for illicit liquor production, as well as some brewed 'sara'.
Individuals engaged in these illegal activities fled upon the police's arrival, leaving authorities to intensify efforts to capture the absconding suspects.
