Operation Sahyog: Lifeline for Manipur's Isolated Villages

In a display of commendable coordination and commitment, the Assam Rifles and Indian Air Force carried out 'Operation Sahyog,' a joint ration distribution effort to aid 18 villages in Manipur's Churachandpur district. This initiative addressed the plight of communities cut off due to landslides along NH-2 since July 17, 2025.
The meticulously planned operation saw six tons of essential supplies, including rice and pulses, being airlifted. Helicopters from the Indian Air Force ensured the rapid transport of these goods from Churachandpur to designated drop zones across the Henglep Sub-Division. Assam Rifles personnel facilitated the efficient collection and equal distribution of supplies, thereby reaching more than 1,500 villagers impacted by the natural disaster.
The operation underscores the dedication of these defense forces to provide humanitarian assistance in challenging terrains. An official statement from the Ministry of Defence commended their swift action. Governor Ajay Bhalla expressed gratitude via social media, applauding the initiative that overcame harsh weather and difficult terrain to bring much-needed relief.
