Cybercrime Crackdown and Liquor Seizure Mark Eventful Day for Assam Police

In a significant breakthrough, Assam Police arrested six individuals linked to a cybercrime case in Nagaon district. Among them were two suspects from Chandigarh and Amritsar, while the remaining four were local residents, according to Jayanta Baruah, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime), Nagaon District.
While the district grapples with cybercrime, Majuli police successfully confiscated 744 litres of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) following a credible tip-off. The crackdown was executed by the Balichapori police post team, marking a triumph in the battle against illegal liquor trade.
Meanwhile, in Cachar district, a house search led to the arrest of Sarif Hussain, suspected of possessing illegal arms and involvement in extortion activities. The police operation resulted in the seizure of a factory-made pistol, magazine with ammunition, and an Android handset.
