The Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, announced that the 4,000 MW Yadadri Thermal Power Plant will be fully operational by January next year, marking a significant advancement in meeting the region's energy demands.
Vikramarka inaugurated an 800 MW unit of the plant, hailing it as a historic milestone. He criticized the previous BRS government for project delays due to pending environmental clearances, which extended the timeline and increased costs by nearly two years.
The current Congress administration secured necessary environmental approvals within two months of taking office in December 2023, expediting the long-awaited project. During the inauguration, state ministers and legislative council chairperson were present to witness this accomplishment.
