In a significant escalation, over 120 firefighters battled a blaze at an oil depot in Sochi, Russia, following a drone attack attributed to Ukraine. Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported the incident early Sunday on Telegram.
The fire engulfed a 2,000-cubic-metre fuel tank in Sochi's Krasnodar region, prompting emergency measures such as halting flights at the city's airport, as per Rosaviatsia, Russia's civil aviation authority. Meanwhile, the attack in Sochi's Adler district signifies Ukraine's ongoing efforts to disrupt Russian infrastructure, significant to Moscow's wartime operations.
In addition to the Sochi incident, a Ukrainian drone strike in the Voronezh region injured a woman and caused fires. Concurrently, Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv, underscoring the continuing conflict's intensity.
