Delhi's Education Assembly recently witnessed heated debates over the introduction of the 'Delhi School Education (Fee Determination and Regulation Transparency) Bill'. Spearheaded by the BJP-led panel, the bill aims to regulate private school fee structures, a move which has attracted strong criticism from AAP leader Atishi.

Opposing the bill, Atishi, the former Chief Minister, described it as a 'fraud' aimed at benefiting private school proprietors. She accused the BJP of aligning with private institutions to enforce unchecked fee hikes, thus burdening parents financially during an already challenging time.

Conversely, Education Minister Ashish Sood defended the bill by focusing on its potential benefits, citing past government failings in managing educational issues. The legislation mandates financial transparency from schools, setting a three-year advance fee submission system. Additionally, severe penalties are proposed for unwarranted fee increases.
