The relentless monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh has left a tragic mark, with a reported 194 fatalities and extensive damage nationwide. A cumulative loss report from the Department of Revenue-DM Cell, spanning June 20 to August 5, 2025, details the devastation, emphasizing the significant loss of life and widespread infrastructure destruction.

Dominating the casualty figures, 108 lives were lost due to rain-triggered incidents like landslides and flash floods. Kangra, Mandi, and Kullu are the hardest-hit districts, bearing the brunt of the deadly weather. In addition to human casualties, the disaster has inflicted a heavy toll on livestock, with over 28,000 animals, including cattle and poultry, perishing during the deluge.

The economic impact is substantial, with 579 houses reduced to rubble, 1,741 houses partially damaged, and major commercial losses recorded in shops and cowsheds. The state's infrastructure has suffered a monetary blow of ₹1,85,251.98 lakh, primarily affecting public works, agriculture, and horticulture sectors. The State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) maintains its support role, facilitating a 24/7 helpline amidst ongoing recovery efforts.
