JSW Energy Expands Hydroelectric Capacity in Himachal Pradesh
JSW Energy has commissioned the second unit of its 240 MW Kutehr hydroelectric plant in Himachal Pradesh, now providing power to Haryana. With a 35-year agreement at Rs 4.50/kWh, they anticipate the final unit's launch soon, enhancing their renewable energy portfolio to 56% capacity.

JSW Energy announced the commissioning of the second 80 MW unit at its Kutehr hydroelectric power plant situated in Himachal Pradesh. This marks another step in supplying renewable energy, as the 240 MW project is now partially operational, feeding power into Haryana.
A long-term power purchase agreement spanning 35 years has been finalized with the Haryana Power Purchase Centre, setting a stable tariff of Rs 4.50 per kWh. This deal ensures the consistent supply of power to the state's utilities, namely the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam.
Chief Executive Officer Sharad Mahendra highlighted the company's swift project execution and expressed optimism about upcoming unit completions. This development boosts JSW Energy's renewable energy installed capacity significantly, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable sources.
