Tributes to Former Jammu & Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik: A Political Legacy Remembered

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have paid their final respects to the late Satyapal Malik, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, who passed away after a prolonged illness in Delhi. Gandhi and Gehlot joined a host of political leaders in remembering Malik's contributions.

Speaking to reporters, Gehlot highlighted Malik's unwavering dedication to the cause of farmers and his consistent advocacy for national interests. "Satyapal Malik always raised his voice for the farmers and in the national interest. May his soul rest in peace," Gehlot expressed.

Malik's political journey started in the mid-1960s, inspired by socialist leader Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia. Throughout his career, Malik held numerous pivotal roles, including serving as a member of both Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and the Indian Parliament, and as the Governor of Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir during a transformative period in the region's history under his governance.
