In a decisive move, the Tripura government directed by Chief Minister Manik Saha has embarked on an ambitious plan to repair the ailing Kamalpur-Khowai National Highway. This initiative followed Saha's direct communications with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, underscoring the highway's critical state. Essential as a 12 km alternative route, this road's refurbishment is essential for the state's infrastructure.

The Central Road Research Institute conducted a detailed inspection of the highway from June 23 to 27, with findings due by mid-August. This action aligns with Union Minister Gadkari's directives, propelling NHIDCL's Managing Director, Dr. Krishna Kumar, to evaluate the highway's conditions in early August. Saha's persistent discourse with the minister and emphasis on the highway's repair have made this a priority.

Beyond the highways, CM Saha's commitment extends to Agartala, where continued urban developments are underway. In July, Saha revisited various city locales to scrutinize progress firsthand. Focused on infrastructural innovations such as drainage and beautification, he advocated for transparent governance and emphasized development across Tripura with projects totaling Rs 600 crore initiated early in 2025. Saha's leadership vision is for all regions to experience cohesive growth beyond the capital.
