Empowering Festivities: UP's Pension Boost for Destitute Women

Uttar Pradesh has transferred Rs 1,115.64 crore to over 36.75 lakh destitute women under the 'Nirashrit Mahila Pension Yojana', just in time for the festive season.
Officials revealed that the Women Welfare Department disbursed the financial support through the Public Financial Management System in early August. This effort intends to allow beneficiaries to enjoy the festivities without financial worries.
The initiative is part of the state's goal to provide social and economic support to women who have lost their husbands, ensuring transparency through Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
