The bridge over the Vishwamitri River in Vadodara district, Gujarat, stands completed, adding a crucial link to the ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. This marks the 17th completion out of the 21 planned river bridges in the region, the Ministry of Railways announced on Wednesday.

Measuring 80 meters, the structure lies parallel to Western Railways' Vadodara-Surat main line. It comprises three piers, strategically placed to ensure stability, with one embedded in the river's flow and the others anchoring its banks.

The bridge's completion represents a significant infrastructure achievement amid Vadodara's urban sprawl. Known for its logistical challenges, the construction required meticulous planning and coordination with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation and other local authorities. Notably, out of the nine Vishwamitri crossings, four, including this primary bridge, are operational, facilitating the visionary Bullet Train alignment.
