In response to the severe floods that have inundated areas in Uttarkashi district, the Indian Army and other local authorities have ramped up their rescue and relief operations. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is steadfastly working to restore crucial road connectivity along National Highway 34, further disrupted by significant landslides in the region.

Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan, Director General of BRO, emphasized the organization's commitment to reopening vital routes and specifically clearing the landslide near Gagnani. Efforts are being made to reconstruct the decimated Limchigarh bridge, which is key to re-establishing links to the isolated area of Harsil.

Meanwhile, the situation in Dharali remains dire, with several individuals, including Army personnel and laborers, missing following multiple flash floods. The Indian Air Force has deployed Chinook helicopters for evacuation efforts as joint operations by the Indian Army, BRO, and other response units continue. State authorities have assured full support to facilitate these ongoing efforts.
