In the aftermath of a catastrophic cloudburst that wreaked havoc in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami remains at the forefront of relief and rescue operations. For the second consecutive day, Dhami closely monitored efforts to mend the flood-stricken Dharali-Harsil valley, ensuring resources are mobilized effectively.

Despite the challenging conditions, the government is making headway in evacuating affected residents with aerial support playing a crucial role. Helicopters are actively transporting individuals from isolated areas to the Matli helipad, from where further transit is organized to move them to safer locations.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has significantly bolstered these efforts by deploying various aircraft such as Chinooks, Mi-17V5 helicopters, C-295, and AN-32 for evacuation and supply missions. To date, 226 civilians have been evacuated, and essential personnel and materials have reached the impacted zones. The IAF stands prepared to continue operations as required.

In addition, the Indian Army's efforts in re-establishing communication have been indispensable. Key connections were restored with the installation of satellite and radio systems, allowing stranded civilians to contact their families. A makeshift footbridge now connects Dharali and Mukhawa village across the Bhagirathi River.

Illustrating commitment to the cause, CM Dhami pledged one month's salary towards relief, while the state government operates rescue missions as a top priority. He calls upon the public, officials, and organizations to contribute to the ongoing relief work, aiming for collaborative success.
