At a fiery rally in Bengaluru's Freedom Park, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of orchestrating 'vote theft.' Kharge argued that the Congress lost the 2019 General Elections due to 'fake votes'.
Kharge claimed the current government is steeped in deceit, labeling it the government of theft. He accused Modi of using 'bogus votes' to influence outcomes, a tactic Kharge contends has been ongoing since 2019. He also suggested that the Election Commission operates under the directives of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Congress leader highlighted alleged electoral irregularities in Bengaluru, pointing to the verification of 6,60,000 votes in recent legislative assembly elections. He alleged that Modi influenced the Election Commission to control voting patterns, asserting that BJP victories in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections were attained illegitimately.
Kharge called for a collective movement against the government, drawing parallels with Mahatma Gandhi's Quit India Movement. He expressed determination to 'do or die to protect the Constitution', while acknowledging Rahul Gandhi's role in raising public awareness.
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi demanded voter lists and video recordings from the Election Commission, alleging collusion with BJP. He claimed that Congress should have won more seats based on their polling, but was hindered by systemic vote manipulation. Gandhi emphasized the party's commitment to defending the Constitution, invoking historical figures integral to India's democratic fabric.
