Empowering Lives: The Global Reach of Jaipur Foot
The Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), creator of the Jaipur Foot, has rehabilitated around 24 lakh people with disabilities globally since 1975. Recently, they've assisted 1.78 lakh individuals with various aids. Future plans include international camps and new branches in India.

Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), the organization behind the Jaipur Foot, has successfully rehabilitated approximately 24 lakh individuals with disabilities both in India and internationally, according to its founder D R Mehta.
The BMVSS has extended its humanitarian efforts to 47,527 foreign nationals across 46 countries through 116 camps. In recent initiatives, in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs, camps were organized in Kabul, Afghanistan, aiding 75 individuals, and in Maputo, Mozambique, benefiting 1,230 people. In the past year alone, 1.78 lakh people have received assistance in the form of artificial limbs, calipers, wheelchairs, and hearing aids.
Looking ahead, President Satish Mehta announced plans for upcoming international camps in Tanzania, Nicaragua, Trinidad and Tobago, Guatemala, Sudan, and Myanmar. Celebrating its golden jubilee, the organization has inaugurated new branches in Amritsar and AIIMS Bhopal, with additional centers planned in Jagdalpur, Shillong, Barmer, Hamirpur, and AIIMS Jammu.
